The ban, however, considers the close to three months Ssimbwa has been on suspension already.

KAMPALA - FUFA has banned KCCA FC head coach Sam Ssimbwa from any football-related activities for eight months.

The federation's ethics and integrity committee chairman William Byansi, said he found Ssimbwa guilty of statements that jeopardise the integrity of Ugandan football.

In January, KCCA FC suspended Ssimbwa, accusing him of ‘allegations of personal misconduct' when he, in a recording presented against him, was heard saying that sometimes he compromises match officials to win football games.

FUFA said: "The committee found out that the standards required from a senior coach like Sam Simbwa is higher than what he portrayed when he uttered statements relating to his ability to bribe match officials in order to get results".

The ban, however, considers the close to three months Ssimbwa has been on suspension, meaning he will serve approximately more five months.

Ssimbwa has been given up to 10 days (until Wednesday 27, April) to appeal the verdict.
