Kabaka emphasizes education in birthday speech

Kabaka Ronald Muwenda II has asked parents and guardians to support the Government's programs geared towards improving the education standard in Uganda.

Addressing hundreds of guests who turned up for his 61st birthday celebrations at Naggalabi Budo, KMutebi called upon parents not to abdicate their responsibilities in educating their children.

Kabaka Mutebi was born on April 13, 1955 at Mulago hospital to Ssekabaka Muteesa II and Sarah Kisosonkole.

"We thank God for the good health and protection for all these years. I also thank you all your prayers. Thank you," he added.

Mutebi took over the throne in1993 and still rules up to today.

He returned to the country in 1986 after 20 years to take up his cultural responsibilities as a traditional leader of his Kingdom.

On 31st July 1993, His Majesty was enthroned as the 36th King of Buganda.
