Buganda Regional League: Free Stars beat Kiwanga
Apr 11, 2016
Free Stars started off on a high although they faced a resilient opposition.
Alex Mubeezi inspired Free stars FC to a brutal 4-1 home victory over Kiwanga FC in Mukono in the Buganda Regional League.
The hosts, embroiled in the relegation battle, had the striker score twice in a game that also saw Joshua Kirathe and Robert Mugisha also contribute to a massive win.
Free Stars started off on a high although they faced a resilient opposition.
But it took 20 minutes to break the deadlock when Mubeezi received a through-pass from Dan Semambo to slot home the opener.
He was denied by the wood-work five minutes to the break.
But soon after restart, he scored his brace and a second for the hosts.
But at the hour mark, Tonny Magala gave Kiwanga belief with a brilliant header from a right-wing cross to pull one back.
And the belief was evident in the way they pressed Free Stars in search of an equalizer, but the home side had a solid defence.
With 20 minutes of play remaining on the clock, substitute Mugisha's 18-yard shot made it three for Free Stars before another substitute Kirathe struck to all but end the match as a contest.
