Uganda Prisons are the defending champions

Debutantes, Mimis Darts Club chairman Olanya Columbus has promised fire against top guns ahead of the Kampala Zone National League throw off this month.

"We are more than ready to start the league. Everything is set. We are anticipating better results against top clubs," Olanya has vowed.

The club that was admitted to the league recenly is among the 16 clubs in the Kampala zone league that throws off this month April 16 - 17.  

The club located at Mimis Tavern in a Kampala suburb Kisasi was founded by artist Olanya Columbus, a renowned darts enthusiast.

Uganda Darts Association (UDA) secretary David Tabaro said the entry of Mimis is the development of the game.

Uganda Prisons are the defending champions in the event that will involve Police, UPDF, Leisure Tec, Kobs, UWA, Winehouse and KBN Darts Club.

In the meantime, Tabaro has warned clubs to improve to provide a conducive playing environment in their venues.

"Poor sanitation has been a major complain especially in Kampala zone. In some venues washrooms are unhygienic and some players especially the ladies have ended up picking Urinary Tract Infections," Tabaro observed in a circular to clubs.
