Amos Muwonge scored twice as Uganda Christian University beat holders Makerere University Business School (MUBS) 2-1 at home in the University Football League.
It was swift revival for the Mukono-based side after losing their opening game 1-0 to Gulu University.
They are now tied on points with MUBS although the latter have a better goal difference.
Muwonge made quick work of the contest when he received a through pass from Joshua Kirathe and turned the ball in goal to give the home side a first-minute lead.
He should have made it two as the game progressed but his glancing header whistled wide.

By the hour mark, UCU was still in command, but four minutes later, the equalizer came. Isma Kiwawulo’s angled free kick from 30 yards out beat the keeper to bring the visitors back into the game.
And as the clock ticked away, with the contest threatening to remain at par, Muwonge pounced once again with five minutes to go.
He got to the end of a free-kick to slide home the winner with his left foot.
UCU’s assistant coach Christian Magoba: “Attitude and playing under instructions helped us to get three points. Thanks to the boys.”
MUBS head coach Charles Ayiekoh: “Every time, one [UCU] player would go down. It was not football.”
