Apr 06, 2016

Use this chance to win school fees for yourself or your loved one.

Do you want to win school fees? Well, just buy a copy of the New Vision today, cut out the coupon and rush to Vision Group's headquarters because the first draw will be held on Friday this week.

Joseph Lwanga, Vision Group's circulation manager, says 45 lucky winners will be picked from the draw.

"We shall pick 15 winners from the primary school category, 15 from secondary schools and another 15 from the tertiary education category. This will give us a total of 45 winners," he said.

If you have not yet joined the bonanza, Lwanga says you should use this chance to win school fees for yourself or your loved one.

"We encourage all Ugandans to participate in this promotion. You can drop all your coupons in a box at our offices," he says.

Lwanga also revealed that there will be subsequent draws that will be held in this regard.

The New Vision school fees promo is one of the ways Vision Group is giving back to the public in commemoration of Uganda's leading daily's 30 years of existence.

New Vision, which was first published on March 19, 1986, recently celebrated her 30th birthday as Uganda's biggest and most influential newspaper. Hundreds have already submitted their coupons for a chance to win the New Vision school fees jackpot.

Rose Namata, 21, a university student and one of the many students that have entered the New Vision school fees promotion, narrated her heartbreaking challenges.

Namata, who joined university in 2014, failed to do her end of semester exams because she had not paid tuition. She repeated the first year hoping for a chance to study again.

Namata, who dropped her coupons on Tuesday at the New Vision main office in Industrial Area, Kampala, said she prays with her mother every day that they win the school fees so that she does not miss her second semester exams.

Alex Azabo, 31, a private guard, saw the advert in New Vision and decided to try his luck in order to get school fees for his three children.

"The money my wife and I earn cannot cater for all our children's school fees. They keep chasing them from school," Azabo told New Vision.

To participate in the promo, one has to buy a copy of New Vision, fill out the coupon and enter the draw. The more coupons one fills, the higher the chances of winning.

Up to sh150m is for grabs. The promotion, which started on March 21, will go on until May 21 and end with a grand draw.
