Buganda Regional League: Kira United in win over Free Stars

Apr 01, 2016

The home side scored two minutes into the game.

Hosts Kira United FC consolidated their position at the top of the Buganda Regional League with a 1-0 win over Free Stars FC.

Despite showing resilience and solidity at the back and in the attack, the visitors failed to translate such spirit into goals.

They were facing a side that had taken an early lead through Martin Semakula, two minutes into the game.

The attacker pounced to give the hosts the lead after the opponent keeper parried the ball back into play.

In the absence of Coach William Kyeswa, Free Stars were helped by Luwero United FC player Joshua Kigozi on the touchline. Kyeswa was attending to his secondary school that is taking part in post primary games.

After restart, Mark Okello almost found the back of the net but he hit wide. Another defeat increased the woes of Free Stars who are second the bottom with 10 points.
