The victors dominated proceedings from the onset

KCCA FC beat SC Villa 1-0 to win the inaugural Star Times Cup in a match watched by Arsenal legend and Star Times ambassador Nwankwo Kanu at Nakivubo Stadium.

Herman Wasswa's first half strike proved decisive in a match watched by a fairly large crowd. The former SC Villa striker pounced on a Jackson Nunda lay-off to tap in after a good build up involving Cranes left back Joseph Ochaya.

The victors dominated proceedings from the onset with man-of-the match Jackson Nunda bossing the midfield with crisp passing  and attacks but were guilty of wasting several chances and were lucky not concede late on as Villa looked for an equalizer late on.

KCCA FC lead striker Herman Wasswa was guilty of not killing off the game in the second half with the goal at his mercy before Villa's Mike Ndera and Ambrose Kirya also missed in similar fashion on the other end.

Kanu later present the winners trophy to KCCA captain Denis Okot amid chants from KCCA FC fans. He was himself earlier presented with an autographed jersey by KCCA players, from KCCA FC chairman Julius Kabugo and Director of Education and Social Services KCCA Juliet Namuddu in the stadium'd board room at halftime before signing autographs as journalists scrambled to take selfies with him.

After the match Kanu was mobbed by mesmerized fans as they all struggled to get near him for photo opportunities before he was escorted out of the stadium.
