Sources at the municipal council offices say talks are still on going with the NCS to establish the legal ownership of the facility.

The proposed rehabilitation of Mbale Municipal Stadium by the National Council of Sports (NCS) is still uncertain.

Sources at the municipal council offices say talks are still on going with the NCS to establish the legal ownership of the facility.

The stadium which had one of the best playing pitches in the country has been run down following years of neglect.

The stadium has ever hosted the CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup and CECAFA Club Championship.

It was last rehabilitated in 1984 when the then minister of rehabilitation Patrick Masette Kuya was NCS chairman but the work was never completed. The pitch has no grass while the toilet facilities have since broken down.
