Let's not compromise our peace - Muhwezi

In an interview with New Vision, Muhwezi expressed concern over people who take the law into their own hands.

Information and national guidance minister, Jim Muhwezi, has condemned the perpetrators of violence in Rwenzori sub-region that has so far claimed over 30 lives in Kasese and Bundibugyo districts.

In an interview with New Vision, Muhwezi expressed concern over people who take the law into their own hands.

"This country has come too far to allow ourselves to be sunk to that level of violence.  I sympathise with the people affected.  This is our country.  Let us build it together, disagree together and grow together," the minister implored.

He, however, said: "Let us not compromise our peace and security."

Investigations into the root causes of the violence are still ongoing and tensions remain high in the area.
