Artistes Richie, Phila Kaweesa mourn father

The Christian fraternity was on Easter Monday left in shock at the sad news of the sudden death of Pastor Steven Kaweesa, father to gospel musicians Phila and Richie Kaweesa.

The longtime servant of the Lord; famously known for the car sticker question, ‘Olokoka ddi?' (When will you get born again?) died together with his compatriots, missionaries Ed Pohlreich and Scott Volz in a tragic car accident after their car, a Toyota Prado TX reported failed to break and fell off a cliff in Seguku, a Kampala suburb.  

Following this tragic incident, several friends, including musicians like rapper Babaluku have come out in huge numbers to share the pain with gospel music singers Phila and Richie Kaweesa.

"21 years ago I lost my father, Apostle John D Balabyekkubo in a similar way. Kaweesa Richard's dad has met the Lord. As I am saddened to hear this news today, I want to send my prayers of encouragement to you Richie and the whole family of the late; yet ever present spirit of Apostle Steven Kaweesa; strengthening you in this season and time where only God can ultimately fill the void and gap felt. R.I.P Apostle Steven Kaweesa," reads part of Babaluku's message to Richie.
