Nyamityobora FC has kept alive their dream of playing at next season's FUFA Big League, after a 1-0 win over Ankole Group rivals MSA-Sentah FC in the Western Region league game played at Kakyeka Stadium over the weekend.

The win not only completed Nyamityobora's double in a highly contested Mbarara derby, but also extended their unbeaten run in the league to 9 games so far.

Abudallah Bajope stepped up to score the solitary goal from the penalty spot, after he was brought down by Ronald Baguma in the box.

The win extended Nyamityobora's lead to 25 points with MSA-Sentah trailing by five points in second position, three away from third places Welden-Bwizibwera, who have three games in hand.

Meanwhile, Kigezi group leaders Kisoro Young Simba's winning streak was halted with a 1-0 loss to rivals NTODA but their 2-0 win over Rubare was enough to keep the Kisoro based side on top of the table.

The top two teams from both Ankole and Kigezi groups, will meet in a semifinal playoff, where the winners will tussle it out for a slot to the Big League.
