Mixed reviews for 'Batman v Superman movie premiere

American latest superhero film 'Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice" premiered in cinemas around Kampala, Thursday evening, earning rave reviews at Century Cinema whence I watched.

The film is a follow up to 2013's Man of Steel starring beefy Ben Affleck as Batman and Henry Cavill (Superman).

The title stirs the urge to anticipate an eye-gorging bloody duel of these flying men in skin-tights, but by its end, not really satiated, not really disappointed.

The evening, started with cocktail, trapped attendees into taking sides through the host, XFM's Rudende. One had to be Batman or Superman. Though, it was quite irritating during the darkened movie time, hearing occasional heated murmurs of arguments in the audience.

Set in Gotham City, Superman is a controversial figure. Is he a hero or not? Batman blames Superman for the mass casualties that resulted from his fight with General Zod. That dispute takes us through thick action for two hours.

An African audience well conversant with the continent's cities might snigger at a city, Nairomi" in one African scene.

But that's just it. Not much homour but just thick visuals and digital effects to keep you watching a little longer.
