Search for drowned fishermen continues on Lake Kyoga

Three people all from Serere district drowned after violent winds hit their boat as they were fishing

The search for the people who drowned on Lake Kyoga on Tuesday has entered day two with the recovery the body of Stephen Oonyu of Okulunyo.

On Tuesday evening the team of fishermen recovered the body of Kokas Oiro of Ocapa before the search was suspended.

Three people all from Serere district drowned after violent winds hit their boat as they were fishing.

Speaking to Etop Radio on Wednesday morning James Ounya, the chairman of Iteso at Kikalaganya landing site found in Nakasongola where the deceased have been staying said they have resumed the search and they are hopeful they will recover the last body of John Omalinga of Kateta.

Ounya explained that this is the second accident on the lake in a period of two weeks.
