She urged women to avoid fronting money ahead of opportunities

Women have been urged to involve themselves in the management of sports in the country.

Efrance Nanjego, the chairperson of women in football made the appeal during the Women in Sports leadership mentorship Workshop organized by Uganda Olympic Committee (UOC) Women in Sports Committee in Jinja.

She urged women to avoid fronting money ahead of opportunities like leadership workshops, education and training workshops instead of knowledge that will help them in their activities.

"One of the challenges we are facing as women is that we tend to think of money every time an opportunity comes up. But the more we front money, the more we lag behind," Nanjego told the participants.

She urged the women to be transparent, respect the statutes and regulations governing their respective organizations on top of respecting each other while conducting their activities in the various disciplines they manage.
