Speaking on behalf of Archbishop Cyprian Kizito Lwanga, the Vicar general of Kampala Archdiocese, Msgr. Charles Kasibante blamed some members of the public, who he said were campaigning for the legalization of abortion.

Students from various schools in the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Kampala on Saturday  converged at Saint Mary’s Senior Secondary School, Nkozi, in Mpigi district, to mark eight years of the inception of the Pro-life Movement.

The movement was founded by Archbishop Cyprian Kizito Lwanga as a Catholic youth apostolate, with the main aim of promoting a culture of life.

Members of the movement, who are mainly students of secondary schools and Universities, promote the culture of life by sensitizing fellow youth about the dangers of vices like abortion, domestic violence, mob-justice and promiscuity, which destroy their life and the life of others.

He said abortion was real murder, which was why it was wrong to sanction it.

The Episcopal Vicar of Mitala-Maria Vicariate, Fr. Dennis Kizito also asked the youth to take a decisive commitment to promote life, by rejecting abortion, domestic violence and promiscuity.

The Coordinator of Prolife in Kampala Archdiocese, Dr. Sandra Nabachwa asked head teachers of secondary school to give due support to their students so that they can participate fully in the activities of the movement.
