Museveni summons NRM caucus at Entebbe

The meeting comes in a day before over 200 newly-elected ruling party MP’s head to the National Leadership Institute, Kyankwanzi for a retreat.

 

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni who is also the National Resistance Movement Chairman has today summoned the parties Parliamentary Caucus for a meeting at statehouse.

 

Details of the meeting remained scanty by press time. However the caucus Vice chairman Peter Ogwang confirmed that the Party Chairman had summoned them. “This is a special caucus meeting that has been called for by the Chairman and as we speak now we are on our way to State House Entebbe,” Ogwang said. The meeting according to party sources starts at 5 p.m today.

 

The meeting comes in a day before over 200 newly-elected ruling party MP’s head to the National  Leadership Institute, Kyankwanzi for a retreat.

 

Speaking to Journalists on Tuesday, the Parties Secretary general Kasule Lumumba announced that MP’s elected on the NRM ticket would leave for Kyankwanzi on Saturday.

 

Ogwang explained that the purpose of the one week meeting was  to orient members and also prepare for the 10 Parliament, which starts in May.

 

“It will mainly center on induction of the new members,” Ogwang told New Vision.
