Gayaza High head teacher receives national honours

The head teacher of Gayaza High School, Mrs. Vicky Kisarare Serunkuma was awarded a Golden Jubilee medal during the International Women's Day celebrations at Kololo Independence grounds.

Serunkuma, whose teaching career spans 35 years, has been head teacher at Gayaza since 2009.

Her contribution towards the education and mentorship of the girl child is reflected in the nomination as head teacher of the year in 2012.

She has established partnership with sponsors who contribute sh. 20m per year to Gayaza High School to enable girls from disadvantaged families attend school.
