Eldoret boasts of the multipurpose 10,000 seater Kipchoge Keino Stadium

The East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Association (FEASSSA) technical team, in conjunction with the Kenya ministry of Education, have named Kenya's Eldoret as the hosting City of the 15th edition of the Brookside FEASSSA games.

The announcement was made after the two teams visited the two earlier proposed cities of Thika and Eldoret at the end of Last month.

Eldoret is located in Western Kenya, a few miles after the Uganda-Kenya boarder at Busia, while Thika is 40 miles away in the far North East of the capital Nairobi

Justus Mugisha, the FEASSSA president said the decision to change from Thika to Eldoret, was reached considering the sports facilities in both.

"We realized that Eldoret had the best facilities, ranging from accommodation to playing fields," Mugisha said.

Eldoret boasts of the multipurpose 10,000 seater Kipchoge Keino Stadium that also has an internationally recommended Tartan running turf.

In terms of accommodation and playing fields, Eldoret schools, Moi Girls High school, GULAB LOCHAB Academy, Testimony School, Eldoret Sports Club, Eldoret Polytechnic Institute and Hill School, have enough.

The Kenya's forth rated City, also boasts of investments by Kenya's top athletes, which Mugisha says will also inspire most upcoming athletes from the secondary schools in the member states Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Rwanda, S Sudan, Zanzibar and hosts Kenya, during the August 26-September 3rd games.
