Bakkabulindi inaugurates new NCS Board

The two year term for the new board runs from February 2016 to February 2018.

State sports minister Charles Bakkabulindi has inaugurated the National Council of Sports board with instructions for them to set up more self-sustaining ventures.

"I want to see that things change at NCS. Where we are heading NCS and sports facilities should be are self-sustaining. Federations should also look at generating their own funds," Bakabulindi said on Monday.

New faces on the board are Hassan Mudiiba and Tom Amiito joining Onyik (Chairman), police officer Andrew Sorowen, Hajji Zubair Galiwango, Margaret Rwabushaija, Kato Kawuma, William Beyeza and Herric Chebrion.

Bakkabulindi said that Charles Egou Engwau, Haji Badru Sabila, Patrick Okanya and Sam Odongo, who do not feature on the re-appointed board will be appointed elsewhere.

NCS acting general secretary Nicholas Muramagi said that, they already fund over 70 per cent of their annual budget that stands at about sh700m.
