Heathens fans and players nearly attacked referee David Kirabira and touch judges Charlie Mungoma and Denis Anguyo.

The Nile Special Premier Rugby League game between BetWay Kobs and Hima Cement Heathens lived to its billing with hard hits, tackles, breakthroughs keeping fans and officials on tension throughout the 80 minutes.

Kobs registered a 28-27 victory at the Legends Rugby Club on Friday.

In the past two league meetings when Kobs lost to their old rivals 11-10 and 18-17, there were no acts of indiscipline witnessed.

This time round, Heathens fans and players nearly attacked referee David Kirabira and touch judges Charlie Mungoma and Denis Anguyo.

It took the intervention of some Heathens fans and Pirates players Haruna Muhammad and Ronald Nalera to save the officials as the angry Alex Mubiru and a lady player Winnie Atyang moved towards them.

Heathens accused the officially of cancelling a try by Philip Wokorach with 5 minutes to the final whistle.
