EC publishes full 2016 presidential results

The Electoral Commission has published the full results from the 2016 presidential elections on their website - by district and by polling station.

The presidential elections took place last week on Thursday, the same day as the parliamentary polls.

Electoral Commission chairman Eng. Badru Kiggundu announced NRM candidate Yoweri Museveni the winner with as much 60%.

Museveni beat his challengers, who included FDC's Kizza Besigye, former Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi and ex-Makerere University vice chancellor Venansius Baryamureeba.

PDP's Abed Bwanika, Maureen Kyalya, Maj. Gen. Benon Biraaro and Elton Joseph Mabirizi were also in the eight-strong race.
