The Electoral Commission chairman Badru Kiggundu has warned the media against announcing unofficial results.
"There are some people who have put up tally centres against my warnings. Media houses should therefore, stay warned, " he said.
Kiggundu noted that he is the only person who is supposed to announce the results and no one else.
"No one has the right to declare definitive results apart from me and my commission, there are some Ugandans who have ears but apparently messages don't sink" said Kiggundu.
He added that some people had established tallying centres with the intention of declaring their own results.
He sounded the warning on Friday morning at Namboole Stadium during the release of the provisional presidential results.
