Chess prodigy eyes gold at National Junior Championships

The 10 year old is a bronze medal winner of the U10 2015 Rwabushenyi Memorial Championships

Promise Kidde believes that a good training can earn him a gold medal  in the upcoming National Junior Championships early this September.

The 10 year old bronze medal winner of the U10 2015 Rwabushenyi  Memorial Championships made the remarks during the children's chess clinic at Makerere University, club five over the weekend.

"After being taught the various techniques on how I can protect my  pieces, like  castling, I intend to keep training so that I get to win a gold medal in the junior championships this September." Kidde told  New Vision

UCF's Vice Chairperson and organizer of the clinic, Olga Namwanjje  stated that the clinic was aimed at preparing the juniors ahead of the National Junior Chess Championships scheduled for September early this  year.

"I purposely decided to organize this clinic to prepare the children  for the Junior Championship this year and also endorse the game of chess in Uganda." said Namwanjje
