The Electoral Commission on Friday displayed a sample of the presidential ballot papers to be used in next week’s election.

The chairman of the commission, Eng. Badru Kiggundu also told reporters that they have finalized packing of election materials.

They are now left with packing registers and ballot papers, he said, adding that they have some 15 million ballot papers.

 



On the sample presidential ballot paper, Abed Bwanika (PDP) appears top, followed by Amama Mbabazi and then Venansius Baryamureeba.

Benon Biraaro, Dr. Kizza Besigye (FDC), Joseph Mabirizi, Maureen Kyalya and President Yoweri Museveni (NRM) follow in that order.

Uganda goes to the polls on February 18 – Thursday next week – to elect their new leaders. Candidates have less than a week left for campaigns.

At the press conference, Kiggundu said his commission has so far accredited over 1,800 officers for the polls.
