Two people died on spot others died at Jinja referral hospital

FOUR people died and several others were rushed to hospital after a vehicle they were travelling in lost control and overturned.

Two people died on spot others died at Jinja referral hospital where they were rushed for medication.

The vehicle a Toyota Diana Canter registration number UAJ 619M was fully loaded with Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) supporters who were in a procession in support of Jinja Municipality West constituency FDC flag bearer candidate, Paul Kawanguzi.

The 5:00pm accident happened at Lubogo Road in Jinja town on Wednesday leaving several people with broken limbs and deep cuts.

According to the Jinja DPC, Felix Mugizi identified the dead as Badru Basalirwa of Masese, Yusuf Kagulu and 8-year-old Esther Naula.

By the time of the accident, Kagulu and Naula were walking besides the road side and were knocked by the vehicle fully loaded with FDC supporters. 

He added that several others who were injured were also rushed to the referral hospital and to nearby private clinics.

The injured included Yusuf Sabula, Farouk Ssegawa, Emma Munabi , Moses Abima , Moses Alinga and other un-identified five people.
