Loughborough Lightning's head coach Karen Atkinson is likely to look up to Uganda's Peace Proscovia on Saturday as the student's team faces Hertfordshire Mavericks in their second game of the English Netball Super League.

The Lightning side is currently enjoying an early lead at the top of the table with three points after thumping Yorkshire Jets 65-34 in the league opener over the weekend.

According to Atkinson, the teams' victory was strongly built around Proscovia's tireless efforts.

"In terms of the result, it was a perfect start but I think there is still a lot to work on. I think we need to ensure we don't just look to Proscovia and just launch it in every time," Atkinson said after the game.

She later added, "We got a lot of hand to ball today (against Jets), which was brilliant and I think Proscovia always stands up to the challenge, takes the hits and puts the shots away."

At the weekend game that was watched by over 8,000 fans at the Genting Arena in UK, centre Sasha Corbin got the game underway for Lightning and within 12 seconds Proscovia had put her team in the lead, setting the tone in the first quarter (15-9), 28-13 at half time and 47-25 in the third quarter.

"I played my best game and I am sure it was a 50 percent performance. I am ready to even perform better in the remaining games," said Proscovia.

The former NIC player and 2014 Nile Special/USPA player of the Year, who just signed a two year contract with the student's team has been named on the starting seven along with Walker, Joseph Hannah, Sasha Corbin, Jade Clarke, Ama Agbeze and Joanna Trip.
