Mukula calls for peace ahead general elections

Mukula said since government has created conducive environment for business prosperity, it is high time for all to sustain the peace by being calm.
Captain Mike Mukula, the NRM Vice Chairman, Eastern has urged all residents of Luweero to remain calm and peaceful ahead of the forthcoming polls slated for 18th February 2016.
Mukula said since government has created conducive environment for business prosperity, it is high time for all to sustain the peace by being calm.
He was addressing residents of Luweero during the district's 30th NRM anniversary celebrations held on Friday at Luweero grounds.
"Let us consolidate this peace and strive hard to develop the country by embracing all the government projects," said Mukula
Alice Muwanguzi, the Luweero district Resident District Commissioner (RDC) stressed the need for unity regardless of political affiliation.
"Let us not be divided over politics because either before or after elections, Luweero will stay and God forbid, should any reactions spur fights, we shall suffer," said Muwanguzi .
During the function, the NRM party flag bearers were officially unveiled before the voters who had come for the celebrations.
James Kinobe, Uganda ambassador to Democratic Republic of Congo was optimistic that next month's polls will be peaceful.
However, Kinobe cautioned some candidates against using abusive language since this can easily spark off riots.
