USPA lines up Nannyonga, Otile, Byekwaso for top award

They will be crowned at the journalists’ annual gala at Imperial Royale Hotel later in April

Uganda Sports Press Association (USPA) has lined up Golfer Ronald Otile, bodybuilder Ivan Byekwaso and netballer Rachael Nanyonga for its Nile Special sponsored Sports Personality of the Year 2015 award.

They will be crowned at the journalists' annual gala at Imperial Royale Hotel later in April. Otile, Byekwaso and Nanyonga all achieved at both the national and international level

Otile won both the amateur and professional golf open and was runner up in the Africa Golf Championships. Otile's role made him part of the reason Uganda won the zone V gold championships.

She Cranes winger/attacker Rachael Nannyonga on the other hand helped the She Cranes team finish eighth in the netball world cup. She was voted Uganda's most valuable player at the global competition.

Byekwaso, another international achiever in the year won the INBA Mr. Natural Universe and the INBA World Cup completes the list.

The scribes have also lined up Uganda Golf Cranes, the She Cranes and Uganda Rugby Cranes for team of the year award that will be announced at the dinner.

For the monthly award, Africa Boxer Union light feather weight champion Edward Kakembo was voted Nile Special USPA sports personality of December 2015.
