Uganda Cranes and Gabon play to 1-1 stalemate

Uganda took the lead in the 33th minute through Erisa Ssekisambu before Ronald Ntsitsiguyi equalized for Gabon in the last ten minutes of the game.

Uganda Cranes and Gabon played to a 1-1 draw in an international friendly in Jinja, ahead of the Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) that kicks off on January 16.

Uganda took the lead in the 33th minute through Erisa Ssekisambu before Ronald Ntsitsiguyi equalized for Gabon in the last ten minutes of the game.

 Cranes now take on Cameroon on January 13 in Njeru in the second high profile friendly game to prepare for the tournament.

 Uganda will open their CHAN campaign against Mali on January 19. The other teams in Group D are Zambia and Zimbabwe.

 The African Nations Championship is a biennial football tournament organised by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) exclusively featuring players from the respective national championships. A total of 16 teams are expected to participate at the fourth edition of the tournament.
