Ssebuwufu further remanded over murder

The Buganda Road Chief Magistrate''s Court has further remanded city car dealer Muhammad Ssebuwufu and four others accused of murdering Dona Katusabe

The Buganda Road Chief Magistrate's Court has further remanded city car dealer Muhammad Ssebuwufu and four others accused of murdering Dona Katusabe.


His co-accused are Philip Mirambo, a Congolese national; Stephen Lwanga, Godfrey Kayiza and Paul Tasingika.

This was after prosecution led by the principal state attorney, Jonathan Muwaganya, informed court presided over by Chief Magistrate, Flavia Nabakooza, that  he did not peruse the police file to know the status of the investigations.

As he made his way to court Ssebuwufu, allegedly unwell, was carried by prison warders. He could not walk.

Prosecution alleges that the accused persons and others still at large on October 21, 2015 at Pine Car depot located on Lumumba Avenue in Kampala, allegedly tortured Katusabe to death.

It further alleges that on the same day, they robbed Katusabe's phone worth sh300, 000.

Katusabe bought a car from Ssebuwufu worthy sh19m and paid sh10m cash remaining with a balance of sh9m which she failed to clear in two weeks as promised. 

The case has been adjourned to December 9 for further mention.
