Couples paint the MTN Marathon with love

As people woke up at the break of dawn to participate in the MTN marathon, among them, couples staggered out of their beds, hand-in-hand and hit the road.

People huffed and puffed as they ran towards the finish line.

For the couples, it was a different story. It is always a different story for lovebirds. To them, it’s more than a marathon, it is a bonding run.

On the road, you can easily single them out from the lot. They hold each other hands, engaging in small or, sometimes loud banter.

At some point, they will stand there, staring deep into each other’s eyes.

A man, perhaps, removes a log from the woman’s eye. And they will proceed running. Actually, they don’t run per se; they slowly jog or walk to the finish line.

They strike a love tableau; a spectacle left to be marveled at. In this era of smartphones, they smile to the camera and take selfies to upload on Instagram or Facebook, or for their next Whatsapp profile picture.

Others use the marathon as the meeting point. Let’s meet at the MTN marathon, hun.

Which tent are you in? I am here. Do you see me? Come this side.

The marathon is the melting pot of love. As other people run in accordance to the theme of the marathon, these couples run into each other’s arms.
