Kawempe Moslem’s 13-0 win over Ajax Queens in the FUFA Women Elite League Victoria Group game on Sunday last week, has drawn different reactions from team officials and coaches.

Some officials have dubbed it a ‘disgrace’ to the league, while others look at it as a normal happening in football.

“This a complete disgrace to the league, it is going to portray a bad picture, playing down the status of this league,” Wakiso Hill SS manager Wilber Shaka said.

However, Kawempe team official Moses Kata Nkata defended his team’s result saying it was just a wakeup call.

“Ajax is not a simple team. We wanted to signal to other opponents that we are back and stronger,” Nkata said.

The game was shifted from Saturday to Sunday morning because the players had gone for burial of their teammate Phiona Wanyana’s aunt.

However, Ajax turned up with only ten players, as Hasfa Nassuna scored 5 and Sandra Nabweteme added 4, before Favour Nambatya, Esther Naluyimba,Juliet Nalukenge and Zamin Masunge scored too.

Ajax team manager Maria Nazziwa has blamed the loss to missing some key players like Dorah Amron and Phiona Wanyana due to exams and funeral.

“We were missing several key players who were doing exams and others were still with Wanyana. We however shall be a different side in the next game,” Nazziwa said.

There have already been heavy defeats in the second season so far, as new side Olira have had a double 6-0 loss Gafford and She Makerere with Devine Stars also losing 5-0 to UCU.
