AS Pope Francis’ visit to Uganda draws ever closer, National Water Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) has purchased papal rosaries worth sh9m in a drive to raise funds for the completion of Namugongo Martyrs shrines.

Vision Group is at the forefront to raise funds in the preparations for the historic visit and ensure that the shrine is ready for the celebratory mass.

Vision Group delivered papal rosaries made from Rome.

"We have bought the rosaries to ensure that the target of the Pope's visit is attained," Alfred Okidi the deputy managing director of NWSC finance and corporate service said.

Okidi pointed out that the rosaries are significant in that they will be used by individuals seeking blessings from Pope Francis and also to pray for the Pope as well as Uganda.
