UCU’s dependable Daniel Mihigo is convinced that his side is capable of putting up a fight this Friday as it bids to win the inaugural University Badminton League title.

Mihigo’s side landed their third disappointment of the season after falling to a rising side Makerere University 3-2 over the weekend at Victory City Church in Ntinda but the poor results have not hindered the 2013 USPA badminton player from having confidence amongst his teammates.

“We were just a little disorganised in the start and that’s how we came to lose the game but am sure we are still capable of putting up a fight this week,” Mihigo said.

In the game against Makerere, Hakim Ntanda and Mark Akampulira picked UCU’s winning point after beating Balam Ankunda and Lawrence Sempijja 21-15, 22-10, 21-11 in the last men’s doubles contest to seal the teams’ victory.

Earlier on Makerere had also won the two singles with victory from Ntanda and Lawrence Sempijja who beat UCU’s Ankunda and Jovan Kyambadde 2-0 each respectively.

Meanwhile Ndejje University continued their unbeaten run after thumping MUBS and KIU 5-0 each to stay at the top of the table with 12points.
