CoRSU Rehabilitation Hospital's physiotherapist Stanley Lubega made the remarks before Elizabeth Atonet was discharged after a week of observation following the left knee surgery she underwent on Tuesday 27, October.

He added, "We only discharge a patient after making sure that they are able to take care of themselves. I have instructed her to exercise regularly because this will help the muscles to coordinate with the brain to fasten the healing process."

Atonet's operation was made possible after the National Council of Sports (NCS) paid the hospital bills worth sh4.57m following various articles published by the New Vision highlighting her plea for medical assistance last month.

She was earlier meant to be discharged on Thursday last week but according to the hospital's Communication Officer, Rehema Kirabo they had to keep her under observation for more days after being diagnosed with a fever.

"Most of our patients are kept for a maximum of two days after the operation but for her case, we had to add more days so that we observe her condition critically and the hospital management is likely to clear the additional bills," she said.

At CoRSU a night in the private wing goes for about sh280,000.

Meanwhile Atonet thanked the hospital management and all those who made her surgery a success.

“The pain has reduced and I can’t forget to thank all those who made this operation a success. Am sure I will be fine,” she stated.
