EC issues presidential nomination guidelines

THE Electoral Commission has directed all presidential aspirants to submit the names of the people who will accompany them to the nomination venue on Tuesday before close of business today.

The commission spokesperson Jotham Taremwa said the aspirants should come with not more than 20 people accompanied only by vehicles bearing a police sticker.

“This is very important because access is limited. The only other vehicles allowed to access the venue will include Electoral Commission, Police and Emergency Services vehicles” Taremwa said.

The Presidential nominations will be conducted on 3rd and 4th November at Namboole Stadium beginning with President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni at 10am on Tuesday followed by former Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi at 11am before Prof Venansius Baryamureeba and Bbaale Charles Lwanga are nominated.
