LOCAL radio station 92.4 Luo FM in Pader threw Pader RDC Justine Lungajul out of studio for refusing to remove his shoes during a talk show meant for government programs.
The program manager of Luo FM, Odong Daniel Bobby threw out Lungajul.
The Radio always offers a free talk show for any government radio program every Wednesday from 9am to 10am.
He was accompanied by the assistant district health officer Anna Apio to conduct a talk show on cervical cancer.
According to the station manager Mildred Auma, this is not the first time Lungajul violated the station rules and regulations though he has politely been told several times. Odong confirmed the incident in an interview with New Vision.
“We have hosted very many big leaders, key government officials including ministers but they have followed the studio rules and who is Lungajul who is always not listening to anybody?” asked Odong.
Odong said learnt that shoes are always removed to keep the studio equipment like the console and wires from gathering dust.
One of the senior advisors on the radio station’s board of directors Okidi Markley Vincent said that the board has no problem with the RDC but he should maintain discipline and abide by the station rules put in place for guest and hosts.
“If he refuses to utilize the free airtime given to his office we shall invite the DISO and the DPC or the RDC Agago Okwir Ray to address listeners on government programs” Okidi said.
In his response Lungazul said that the staff of Luo FM and its management lack managerial skills.
“Unprofessional staff of Luo FM cannot order the whole RDC, the president’s representative out of the studio because he has not removed shoes” he fumed.
He also said he does not wear ordinary shoes and does not use local laundry soap to wash his pair of socks.
