The sixth Pakasa Forum is only three days away—and Diana Ntamu, the director of Makerere University Business School’s Entrepreneurship Centre is urging youth to flock Kampala Parents’ School in droves to attend the engagement.

“As a young person with aspirations of starting a business, you cannot afford to miss the Pakasa Forum. Young people need inspiration from fellow young people who have achieved success in life, and the panelists at the forum are a perfect example of successful entrepreneurs,” Ntamu says.

With undertones of integration in the East African Community bloc, the Pakasa forum will be graced by five of East Africa’s brightest young entrepreneurs. Noah Walakira, the young Ugandan whose sweater making business has catapulted him to success that has attracted the attention of global cable news giant, CNN, will be the “home player” on the table of panelists.

Walakira will be joined by James Mworia, an investment company kingpin from Kenya, Patrick Ngowi, CEO for one of East Africa’s biggest solar energy companies based in Tanzania, Clarisse Iribagiza, the CEO and co-founder of Rwanda’s HeHe Limited, a leading mobile technologies Company, and Burundi’s Ange Mayubira whose runs an art Innovation Incubator named Kazo zah in Burundi.

Ntamu says it is important for young people aspiring to tread in the footsteps of the panelist to attend the forum so that they can get valuable insights on the stumbling blocks facing entrepreneurs in the country and the region.

“One of the biggest challenges young people face in entrepreneurship is lack of knowledge. How do I register my business? How do I get mentorship? How do you go about legal issues when I want a business partner? These are some of the questions budding entrepreneurs face.”

The theme for this discussion is “How young people can build the success they want”.
