THE IAAF’s renewed anti-doping policy on Wednesday saw the entire 11 Ugandan athletes undergo tests, as they continue the fight against drug cheats in sport.
All the athletes were picked from their rooms by different doping officials and taken for samples just minutes after they returned from their morning meeting where they were handed their kits for the competition.
IAAF general secretary Gabriel Essar while commenting on the doping program said that it was one of their innovations to see that they test all athletes and keep their samples as a means of cleaning the sport.

“We are looking at operating with the same amounts of samples as we have always seen and apart from the medalists who have the mandatory tests, all other athletes will be tested for banned substances as a way of cleaning and getting rid of cheats,” Essar said.
“All other athletes will also be tested. We want to have as many tests as possible,” added Essar.

Meanwhile, Team Uganda managed to get their kits courtesy of the national sponsors Errea, delivered and distributed to all the athletes.
All the athletes got their competition, training and out of competition leisure kits.
“They are good,” is what defending World Marathon champion Stephen Kiprotich said about the kits.
