Nanyondo is having a good season

But after joining Global Sports Communication, she was given an opportunity to train and her time of 1 minute 59.02 seconds has pushed her to number five of this year’s top list. She ran the time when she won the Ostrava diamond league.

Cuba’s Sahily Diago has the fastest time followed by Russia’s Ekaterina Poisogova with USA’s Brenda Martinez in third position.

“It has so far been a good season. I have run well I can say and I have got an invitation to compete in the IAAF Diamond League. I want to run one before I compete in the Commonwealth Games,” said Nanyondo, who was watching the 7th national trial at Namboole on Saturday.

She will either take part in either the Athletissima diamond league in Lausanne on July 3, Meeting Areva Diamond league in Paris on July 5 or the British Grand Prix in Glasgow July 11.

“I am in a good position in this year’s top list but I want to get points so that I can also be able to also be invited to the final. I have been advised not to burn out myself and that is what I am trying to do,” she added.
