Masaku 7s Rugby: Uganda starts against Mwamba

Uganda Select side will face Kenya''s Mwamba in their opening fixtures in the Masaku 7s tournament in Kenya today.

Uganda Select side will face Kenya's Mwamba in their opening fixtures in the Masaku 7s tournament in Kenya on Saturday (today).

Ugandan Select team is pooled against Pirates Rugby Club and a Kenya U-19 team in the tournament that kicked off on Friday with the schools category.

Team manager Michael Wandera expects good results and he did not shy away from expressing his optimism that his boys will perform better.

The team that is preparing for the Commonwealth Games is under Coach Yayiro Kasasa after Tolbert Onyango did not travel with the team because of unknown reasons.

Benon Kiiza, Jasper Ochen, Lawrence Ssebuliba, Emma Echudu, Philip Pariyo,Philip Wokorach and Michael Wokorach are expected to form Kasasa's starting squad.

Meanwhile Pirates coach Anthony Kinene is also ready for the showdown.

Pirates will face Kenya’s U-19 in their first fixture before playing Mwamba and sealing the day against Uganda Select side in the group stages.
