President Yoweri Museveni has urged African leaders to re- illuminate the causes of conflicts in Africa.
The President made the remarks on Wednesday at the Commemoration of the tenth anniversary of the Peace and Security Council at Equatorial Guinea.
Museveni who is also Chairperson of the Peace and Security Council (PSC) of the African Union , said majority of the conflicts, are based on pseudo- ideology of sectarianism and ethnicity.
The President noted that these conflicts are conducted by ideologically deficient groups that are very indiscipline and commit war –crimes by killing noncombatants.
“The starting point in defeating insecurity in Africa, in my opinion, therefore, should start with banishing the ideology of sectarianism and gender ─ chauvinism,” Museveni.
