ENTEBBE Club golfer Marvin Kagoro beat Phillip Kasozi and Steven Jali on count-back to emerge overall winner of the Sheraton Shoot-out golf tournament

ENTEBBE Club golfer Marvin Kagoro beat Phillip Kasozi and Steven Jali on count-back to emerge overall winner of the Sheraton Shoot-out golf tournament at Palm Valley Golf and Country Club on Saturday.

The handicap 23 golfer who took up the game nine months ago showed steady progress in his game beating over 100 golfers to the top prize of a weekend for two in a diplomatic suite at the Sheraton Kampala.

Meron Kyomugisha with 41 points was the best performer in the ladies category ahead of Diana Nabukenya (31 points) while Denis Anguyo’s 147 gross over two days won him the biggest share of the sh5m purse for the professionals.

Phillip Kasozi took the Group A accolade on top of the longest and nearest to the pin prizes with Steven Jali taking the runners up prize.

Justin Real,s 35 points were also enough to win Group B with Adem Surmertas’ 34 getting him the runners up prize.

Group C was won by Hillary Ndugutse with Paul Nsereko finishing second.

Minister of State for works John Byabagambi and Sheraton Hotel general manager Ian Duncan presided over the one-day tournament which was organized to boost tourism.

One night for two and weekends for two in the Sheraton executive and club rooms await all winners on top of the trophies they got.
