NEMA gives 11 eco-friendly awards

The National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) has recognised individuals and institutions for their conservation efforts.

The National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) has recognised individuals and institutions for their conservation efforts.


 Vice President Edward Ssekandi handed over the the accolades to the winners at the national activities convened at Kaliro district headquarters to commemorate the UN World Environment Day.

Vision Group was among the high profile institutions and individuals that won the awards.

Joseph Masembe of Little Hands Go Green and Tororo Cement Limited was a winner in the high profile category.

Others were   Kaliro district administration, Kaliro Town Council, Twalibanafu farmers group, Budini Girls School, Bulumba Primary School, Enock Kasaijja and Ministry of Education and Sports.

The best exhibitor, Eric Kihuluka of Mikwano Environment Conservation, a non-governmental organization was also awarded.
