UGANDA Cranes and Sports Club Victoria University (SCVU) defender Savio Kabugo is on the verge of joining league champions KCCA after agreeing a two-year contract.
Kabugo, who had misunderstandings with SCVU early this year, will have his contract with the team end this month.
“I have had successful negotiations with KCCA,” he told New Vision Sport.
KCCA vice chairman Allan Ssewanyana confirmed the move.
The official said that the player will be unveiled at an event that will also have the club fans in attendance.
Kabugo’s move will strengthen George Nsimbe’s side ahead of the CAF Champions League campaign next season.
Nsimbe is also keen to sign a striker.
“He (Kabugo) is a good player to have in one’s squad,” the former international midfield player stated.
KCCA will be out to make an impact in the Champions League after losing to Zambian side Nkana in the first round this season.
At the same time, KCCA is getting set for the Uganda Cup final scheduled for Saturday.
The side will face Uganda Revenue Authority in Mbale.
