The Ugandan  music duo Mozey Radio and Weasel were also nominated for the prestigious MTV Africa Music Award (MAMA) in the best collaboration category.

They were nominated for their collabo "Koboko Changu" with Amani from Kenya.

Nabimanya’s nomination was also linked to his continued outreach voluntary programs to inspire the youth through his Reach A Hand Uganda (RAHU) Organisation.

“I was doing this voluntarily with passion but some people saw its impact and decided to support me to promote it.

It was the challenges I faced at a young age as an orphan, that pushed me to encourage the youth make informed choices to live purposeful lives and avoid regrets in future,” he told New Vision in an interview.

Nabimanya is to tussle it out with other four nominees from Tanzania, Nigeria and South Africa in the same category.

For this category unlike in music, the winner is chosen by MTV Base. Nabimanya says this is a big achievement for Uganda.

Mozey Radio and Weasel are battling it out with Diamond feat Davido, Mafikizolo feat May D,  R2bees feat Wizkid and  Uhuru feat DJ Buckz, Oskido, Professor, Yuri Da Cunha.

Voting in the music categories is open at www.mtvbase.com and closes June 4, 2014.

Throughout his programs, which he conducts at different institutions of learning, Nabimanya uses role models, celebrities and successful personalities to inspire the young targeted group.

The MTV Africa Music Awards, KwaZulu-Natal supported by Absolut were established in 2008 by MTV Networks Africa to strictly celebrate the most popular contemporary music on the Africa continent.

The awarding ceremony is to take place at the International Convention Centre in Durban on June 7.

Since 2010, he has been working as a voluntary HIV/Aids activist and advocating for safe sexual behaviors and inspiring the youth to live responsible lives.
