FUBA have postponed the perennially anticipated National Basketball League (NBL) clash between the Falcons and TigerHead Power, originally scheduled as Sunday’s main event at the YMCA.

The match was moved to a date yet to be set following a request from the two teams, who have some of their key players involved in the national team’s final preparations for the FIBA Africa Zone Five championship.

The Uganda Silverbacks were set to face Kenya in a friendly on Saturday and it was deemed unfair for Falcons and Power players involved in the international affair to take part in one of NBL’s biggest contests 24 hours later.

Consequently, only three NBL matches will take place today with the Nkumba Marines taking on Vegetarian in the only men’s match.

Nkumba are looking for their first win in the NBL after opening the season with three defeats while Vegetarian have one win in four and will be keen on taking advantage of the frail Marines to record their second win.

While the quality may not reach the Falcons v Power levels, the parity between Nkumba and Vegetarian should make their game a real contest.

The women’s affair between the UCU Lady Canons and Magic Stormers should be well contested even though the reigning champions from Mukono are favourites to ultimately prevail.
