UGANDA Volleyball Federation (UVF) has been forced to bring forward the NSSF National Volley League matches that were initially scheduled Saturday this weekend to Friday.
Sport-S VC take on champions Nemostars VC men and Nkumba VC and women champions Ndejje were due to take to the court for titanic clashes in the men and women league matches at the MTN Arena on Saturday.
But the sport’s organising commission has said that the venue is available only on Friday.
Meanwhile, Nemostars coach Anthony Ndawula foresees a tough task for volleyball clubs in the second round of the league. He fears the second round may be a lot harder than it is now.
“Basically it was KAVC giving us headaches in the previous seasons which is not the case this year. UCU, KCCA, Ndejje, Nkumba are stretching teams. I have told my players to ensure that we book a playoff position early enough to avoid the unpredictable trend I’m seeing in the future,” Ndawula said after the weekend games.
To achieve that, Nemostars VC will need to win all their remaining first round matches against Gulu VC, Cobap, Sport-S and Ndejje University.
Over the weekend, Nemostars beat KCCA 25-23, 25-23, 25-14.
