Nations Cup Qualifier (Sunday, 3pm)

Madagascar v Uganda

CECAFA vice president Lawrence Mulindwa has challenged the Cranes to reward Ugandans’ faith in the team with a remarkable result away in Madagascar.

After attending the team’s training session in Njeru on Wednesday, the former FUFA president asked the players to show commitment and passion for the sake of national pride.

“Its good that you have shown commitment by all turning up for duty.

Your performance on pitch over the two legs will salvage national pride. We want you to play with the enthusiasm and passion that you have shown in the previous qualifiers,’’ said Mulindwa.

“Although I left FUFA, I am still in touch with you. You can count on me for support. You have to make sure that we make it past Madagascar so that our fans can be proud of you,’’ he added.

Crane head coach Micho Sredojevic pointed that training on the artificial turf in Njeru will prepare the players for the same conditions expected at Madagascar’s Rabemananjara Stadium in Mahajanga.

“I call up on fans to have confidence in this Cranes team,’’ Micho hinted.
